MoCCA (Modular Content Creation & Authoring) simplifies lesson creation with an intuitive, all-in-one platform. Easy-to-use gadgets and rapid prototyping let teachers quickly build and test lessons. Fully responsive and accessible, MoCCA ensures seamless use across devices for inclusive learning.

Problem Statement

Teachers need a simple, all-in-one authoring tool that fits their time-constrained classrooms. Existing platforms are too complex, requiring technical skills and extra effort to create accessible lessons. MoCCA streamlines content creation with an intuitive, easy-to-use platform that supports rapid prototyping and ensures lessons are responsive and accessible—all in one place.

The Team and Our Approach

We built MoCCA prototypes with teachers in mind, conducting extensive research to understand their biggest challenges. Educators wanted a simple, efficient, all-in-one tool that wouldn’t add to their workload—so we designed our MoCCA Teacher-facing product to meet those needs.

Content and Platform Mapping

We mapped existing teacher content to MoCCA through extensive research, analysis, and collaboration, ensuring it preserved the integrity of beloved materials.

Our user-centered approach, driven by direct teacher collaboration and a strong product team, prioritized ease of use, accessibility, and classroom integration, making MoCCA intuitive and practical.

I led product designers and worked closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our teacher experience was intuitive, accessible, and seamlessly integrated into teacher workflows, creating a powerful yet easy-to-use platform.

We prioritized a seamless, intuitive transition to MoCCA, preserving familiarity while enhancing functionality and ensuring teachers could easily find and use their trusted materials.

MoCCA gave teachers back something they rarely have enough of — time.. By streamlining content creation, simplifying workflows, and ensuring accessibility, we’ve built a program that truly enhances the classroom experience.

Outcomes and Impact

Teachers now spend less time on technology and more on students. Our research-driven, user-centered approach made our Teacher experience familiar, intuitive, and powerful, providing educators the confidence and efficiency for great lessons daily.

Championing the implementation of MoCCA at a time when it was brand new — helping align our product with this innovation under aggressive deadlines to create a scalable framework other programs across the company could build on. By instilling a user-centered approach grounded in research, we elevated our digital offerings for our prestegous Math product.

Conclusion

Our new digital product gave teachers back something they rarely have enough of — time. By replacing a fragmented, technically demanding planning process with something intuitive and all-in-one, we changed how educators spend their prep hours.
