Introduction
MathUP is an educational platform focused on enhancing math teaching and learning. It offers resources and tools aligned with the curriculum to improve both student engagement and understanding of mathematics.
In this groundbreaking project, we set out to introduce MathUP, a Canadian educational product, into the U.S. market, rebranding it as Experience Math. This marked a first for our company, as it involved adapting a product not originally developed by us. As the Design Manager, my role was pivotal in not only ensuring a seamless integration of MathUP’s content into our Realize system but also in leading the development of the new identity for Experience Math.
Problem Statement
Our primary challenge involved adapting MathUP’s platform and content for the U.S. market, which required:
Comprehensive understanding and alignment of MathUP’s content with U.S. educational standards.
Effective integration of MathUP’s platform into our existing Realize system.
Preservation of the educational essence of MathUP while customizing it for U.S. users.

Ensuring MathUP’s content fits U.S. educational standards and integrating its platform with our Realize system.

I played a key role in leading research efforts alongside my director and cross-functional teams. My contributions were crucial in defining and collecting research questions and goals, which guided our strategic approach.
Design Leadership
I led product designers in creating Experience Math’s user interface, focusing on an intuitive and engaging user experience.
User Experience Focus
We concentrated on the experiences of teachers and students, evaluated current products for potential adaptation, and assessed the usability of MathUP’s assets.
Global Takeaways
Our team presented comprehensive findings and recommendations, which were instrumental in business case planning and initiating Phase 1 prototyping.
